My mission is to make therapy more approachable.

Hi, I’m Ryan. Finding a therapist can be a difficult process. It takes courage to reach out and ask for help, especially when the person at the other end is a complete stranger.

· You want to interact with another person, not talk to a "wall".
· You want to share vulnerable feelings and embarrassing stories without feeling judged.
· Most importantly, whether you're laughing or crying, you want to feel comfortable being yourself.

That's why I work creatively, drawing on a variety of therapeutic approaches, to offer you a compassionate and engaging therapeutic experience based on your goals. People of every race, gender, sexual orientation, culture, and lifestyle are welcome. To schedule your free 20-minute consultation contact me today.

San Francisco Chronicle Pandemic Problems

I was interviewed by the San Francisco Chronicle’s Annie Vainshtein for an advice column called “Pandemic Problems”. Check out the debut article, Should I travel to visit my partner’s anti-mask family in Southern California?

“If you don’t feel safe, that’s reason enough not to go. We’re living in a time when very little feels in our control — the pandemic, wildfires, financial crises. ‘On a macro scale, we can feel so helpless, but on an individual scale, we have the power to set boundaries,’ he said.”

Why take the PSYCHO out of psychotherapy?

I help individuals set healthy boundaries, couples restore communication, and creatives lead a more empowered life.

Psyche-therapy:

Individuals

In therapy you’ll learn to practice self-compassion, set healthy boundaries, and have a deeper, more authentic relationship with yourself and others.

Couples

Relationships bring your most vulnerable parts to the surface, at times stifling connection. Therapy can help you communicate even in the face of conflict.

Creatives

Like the creative process itself, therapy offers a radical new perspective that can inspire you to make the changes you want in your life.

Approach:

Compassionate

Our relationship is the catalyst for change, and compassion is the foundation on which self-acceptance and transformation are built.

Empowering

By illuminating your unconscious process you’ll gain self-awareness, empowering you to identify feelings that lie at the heart of your issues.

Grounded

Through the exploration of your mind-body connection, you will learn to deepen into feelings while remaining grounded and present.
